More water.

Yesterday and today it was just warm enough to do a little water play in an unconventional setting.  First we went to the Fountains in West Glen.  They were fun because you never know when you're going to get sprayed.  Then today we went downtown Des Moines to the "water maze" as the boys call it.  They love getting in and getting out, playing in the mini waterfalls and just being wet.

She is sweet, playing in the maze water downtown.

 My 4 water babies.

 Picking up pebbles.

Weaving through the fountains at West Glen.

She loves the water and the fact that this sprayer was broken was actually perfect.

These two ended up soaked and loved every minute.

Teeth

Emmeric lost his first tooth Monday night.  Sunday he complained it hurt, he wiggled it back and forth for one day and it came out.  He was really nervous when I first told him it was going to fall out but when it finally did he thought it was pretty cool and even cooler when I told him I would give him 4 quarters.  Even Max said "that's really awesome, I wonder when I will loose a tooth."

First taste of watermelon the other night and again today.  I think she loves it!

Tandem wearing

I enjoy baby wearing as it is calles but today I needed to tandem wear.  When Toby got sick minutes before we got out of the van and I had no stroller I had to wear both.  It worked pretty well for about 30 minutes.  It was really hot but they both appreciated the ride and easier carrying two this way.

Chicks

Yesterday we went to my Aunt Mary Jean's to check out her new baby chicks.  The boys thought they were great and were not scared to hold them.  They really are cute.
This girl loved to touch them but then tried to pull out some feather and then tried to lick it.  Not the best idea.
Sticking together and staying warm.
This boy hardly wanted to put it down but had to when it leapt out of his arms.

Splash Pad 1

Yesterday morning we took advantage of one of the many Des Moines Splash Parks.  It was great fun and the perfect hot weather to play in the water.
 Me & my little boys.
For a child who refused to go in the water last week at swim lessons he was soaked yesterday

I couldn't get him away from the sprayers.
Crawling around in the water.

Arts Festival

Saturday afternoon we headed downtown to the Des Moines Art Festival.  It was a little warm but also fun.  We saw lots of neat art, the boys like anything that looks "real" a train photograph, a rubber ducky painting and these sculptures made out of old cars were some of the favorites.  They also enjoyed walking in the "water maze" and free balloons.
Eddie carrying Joanna around in the sling.

A cool piece all the boys loved.

Inside a piece of art.

Scary...

Our daughter gave us a HUGE scare on Wednesday night.  She laid down for a nap and when she woke up an hour later her face was swollen.  She was having an allergic reaction to something.  Eddie & I rushed to the van to go to the E.R. while my cousin Zoe was here and able to watch the boys (thank God).  After getting to the E.R. she was given benadryl and prednisone.  Her face started to reduce a little, luckily she wasn't in respiratory distress.  We stayed for a few hours for observation and then came home.   It was very scary and since we do not know what caused the reaction we are seeing an allergist next month.  She is switched to a soy formula and will not be taking her antibiotic just in case those were the causes.  We are thankful she is ok and looking/feeling so much better.
How big her face was on the way to the E.R.
Her face is going down, she was pretty cute in her little gown.  The Mercy Pediatric E.R. was great, not only attentive, but also accommodating bringing Joanna toys and checking on us regularly.
