Christmas morning we ate breakfast with Grandpa Dan & Grandma Nancy then opened some gifts. The kids loved all their things and the excitement of the surprise. We then headed to Grandma Verdeens for lunch and then home for the night.
I'm not going to lie and say the day was just amazing and wonderful because it wasn't. It was pleasant for the majority but then it all broke loose and everyone just needed their Dad. Toby cut his head when the basketball hoop fell on him, kids were fighting, Mom was yelling and we called it a night early. I am grateful this is the only Christmas we will spend apart. Roman said it best when he crawled into my bed in the early morning in a sad voice and said "I miss my Dad." We all do, Buddy!
