Our daughter gave us a HUGE scare on Wednesday night. She laid down for a nap and when she woke up an hour later her face was swollen. She was having an allergic reaction to something. Eddie & I rushed to the van to go to the E.R. while my cousin Zoe was here and able to watch the boys (thank God). After getting to the E.R. she was given benadryl and prednisone. Her face started to reduce a little, luckily she wasn't in respiratory distress. We stayed for a few hours for observation and then came home. It was very scary and since we do not know what caused the reaction we are seeing an allergist next month. She is switched to a soy formula and will not be taking her antibiotic just in case those were the causes. We are thankful she is ok and looking/feeling so much better.
How big her face was on the way to the E.R.
Her face is going down, she was pretty cute in her little gown. The Mercy Pediatric E.R. was great, not only attentive, but also accommodating bringing Joanna toys and checking on us regularly.
