We try hard to be intentional with our children so when it came to Holy Thursday what better way to demonstrate how Jesus washed the feet of his disciples then to do it ourselves. Last night Ed read the story of the feet washing from Luke and then we talked about why Jesus did this (to show his love) and then we took turns washing everyone's feet. It was great and I think we could see the gears turning in their heads of being servants to one another. When you do a job or an action for someone you are showing that person you love them (i.e. when you help set the table, get Joanna a toy, push someone on the swing, help a friend, cook supper) your actions show love. Plus they thought it was fun!
