Week 3: Summer

This week was busy.  We had our first Sunday back at church.  Then we hit the playground.  Monday was spent cleaning and then relaxing pool side at neighbor Mike's.  Tuesday we headed to Mary Jean's house to see the baby chicks, kittens, sheep, swing in the hay loft and collect some eggs.  Wednesday and Thursday we headed to Des Moines for some fun at the Zoo and Uncle Andy's Arboretum.  We had an epic game of Sorry where everyone needed a 2 to win. Mom ended up winning.  Friday we celebrated Max's actual birthday and Saturday we got to celebrate with our grandparents.  Dad was busy in Davenport all week with lots of training and paperwork.  We are ready for Week 4 and more fun.

Happy 11th Birthday Max

Friday, we celebrated Max's birthday.  We had birthday pancakes and we got to go to a friend's house to play.  We got ice cream at Sweet Spot and watched Artemis Fowl together.  Saturday he got to see both sets of Grandparents and do some extra celebrating.
Max you're such an awesome kid, full of energy, witty comments and a helpful hand.  You love books, Legos, being at home and video games.   Can't wait to watch you grow this year.  Continue to love Jesus and be kind.

Week 2: Summer

Week 2 of summer was full of things to do.  Sunday we celebrated our 12th Anniversary with a trip to Decorah as a family.  The kids played a lot with the geo board.  Emmeric started back with OT this week with a new therapist.  The kids and I went to Lowe's, bought supplies and built our own sprinkler.  It is awesome.  Eddie also built us a new water table.  It was hot again so they got some good use.  Eddie took off Friday because, Saturday he left for his 2 week annual training in Davenport.  We all saw the Chiropractor and ran some errands.  Craig and his boys along with Sarah came over on Friday night for supper, s'mores and a movie.  Saturday we kissed Dad good bye, had  lunch with Grandma Nancy at a park then headed over to the Pavelec's.  We took Sarah and Grandma Sherri and tried out Union Grove Park.  It was awesome!  Ready for a new week without Dad but some adventure.

Union Grove Park

We checked out Union Grove Park in Gladbrook yesterday with Sarah and Grandma Sherri.  It was absolutely beautiful!  They have a waterfall and a little brook as well as a beach to swim at.   The kids loved sticking their heads in the falls, walking around and eventually playing in the water by the beach.  We hope to head back there another time to spend the day!
