Summer: Week 3

*Reverse order (again). This week started off with Father's Day. Ed was off on Monday so we made a trip to the Rockford Fossil park, hung Emmeric's railroad sign, got out the party barge, had angel food cake and strawberries and walked cows.  Wednesday we went kayaking with friends and played at George Wyth beach.  We tried to explode a watermelon with rubber bands (didn't work as planned), Max has been working as well as working on a stained glass piece. Spent a TON of time in the pool. We ended Saturday night with a taco table.

Father's Day 2023

We celebrated the Dad's in our life last Sunday!  We are so appreciative of you, Eddie and all the things you do for each one of us.  You love us unconditionally, are always patient, wise, understanding and loving.  We wouldn't be the family we are without your leadership and Christ-like example.

Dan & Steve, we couldn't ask for better Dad's and grandpas.  You selflessly give of your time, energy and resources.  Thanks for always showing up and helping all of us.  We love you!

Summer: Week 2

Pictures are reversed*  Sunday started with celebrating Grandpa Dan and Grandma Nancy's 50th anniversary.  It was a lot of fun to see so many people.  On Monday, Max turned 14 complete with getting his driver's permit. He also started helping the neighbor guy with his business a few hours a week.  On Tuesday we picked up Frankie and saw the new Spiderman.  We had a Growth Group grill out on Tuesday!  Wednesday, Toby had a baseball game.  Thursday, Joanna & Frankie did a cooking day camp through 4-H and we met Grandma Verdeen at Willow Winds picnic.  Friday afternoon we headed to Waverly for coffee and a walk around Babcock woods.

Max is 14

Max is 14 and had a good day.  Started with breakfast and coffee.  Then he went and got his permit, nailing the drivers test.  We had a casual day at home with visits from the grandparents, supper at BWW and home for cookie dough.  He also started his first job this week helping the neighbor with his woodworking business.

Max is a go getter, always there to help and doesn't quit until the job is done.  He is super sarcastic and tries to be the boss of his siblings.  But he would be the first to help or play with them.  He loves to play piano, read books and volunteer.  We love you Max and look forward to seeing all the ways God plans to use you!

Summer: Week 1

Summer has officially started and it has been so far so good.  Friday, June 2nd we traveled to West Union for a little coffee and some hiking.  We came across a bridge, stone steps and a creek to play in.  Toby had a few ballgames, Emmeric and Max started summer lifting 3 days a week.  We went on a few walks, strawberry picking with Wagners for the 7th year.  I found 4, four leaf clovers. We had some pool time, chicken chasing, lots of outside rock and wood hauling and readjusting to everyone being home.  This past Friday we traveled to Grundy center and tried a new coffee shop and some hiking close by.  Looking forward to more memories and time together.

Last Day of School 2023

The last day of school was June 1st.  I didn't get a picture with the oldest two as they were at weight-lifting at 6 AM.  We will have two in High school next year.  Toby also said good-bye to elementary school and is off to middle school.  Cheers to a great summer ahead of us!
