Swimming

On Saturday we enjoyed the YMCA, playing in the gym and swimming.   It was great burning off some energy and family time.

Snow Play

It was finally warm enough to get outside and play after school so we headed out.  We went sledding by the school, trekked around the back yard and made lots of designs with our snow pens.  We all had fun and hop we can get outside again soon.
This kid loved being outside and sledding fast down the hill.
Fast ride down, slow walk up.
He makes great snow angels.
She came out for 5 minutes and didn't love it.
They made some great designs.

Hail and Farewell

Yesterday, in Des Moines Ed had his hail and Farewell for the 71st CST.  They do it every year for team members that move on to new jobs.  As a member of the "dragon slayers" you get a sword with plaque, the commander and other people speak about your service on the team and Ed also received a commendation for her service with a ribbon for his uniform.  It is pretty cool and unique because not a lot of people are on or have been a part of this team.  Good job Eddie, we are proud of you.

Ring around the Rosie

Joanna loves to play Ring around the Rosie.  She will just walk up to you and hold out her hands until you take them and play.  She smiles the whole time but also refuses to "fall down."   All the boys indulge her frequently.

Asleep

This little boy was found curled up in the puff ball the other day, he can be the sweetest.

Fires in January

The boys have been asking to have a fire for a few weeks and since Eddie got a splitting maul for Christmas the 2nd seemed like a good time to have one.  We roasted marshmellows, had smores and the oldest two were warm enough to take off their boots and socks.

Eating like a big girl

She has started to hold a spoon and do some self-feeding.  Notice she holds it with her left.
