Putting our dump trucks to good use.

Today we got a lot of inside and outside work done.  Ed started to edge the front sidewalk and the big boys wanted to help.  They got their dump trucks and Ed loaded them with dirt.  It was great because not only did Ed get done what he wanted the boys got to use their dump trucks and play in the dirt.
 Filling them up.
 Headed to the dump site.

New playset

Saturday we got a new play-set.  It is overdue and much needed.  Uncle Andrew helped haul it to our house and Sunday Papa Steve helped put it together.  It is really nice, the big boys LOVE it already.  To quote Ed "It feels more like home with a play-set."  It is so true.

Somebody get me a glass

The big boys LOVE the movie "Tangled"  we have watched a lot in the past few weeks.  It's a really funny movie but there is one part they just laugh and laugh at.  Max has started to say it because Eddie says it just to make them laugh.  I think it's hilarious.  Check out the clip from Tangled and then the one of Max saying it.

Photography by Max...

Max used the camera today for over an hour and took over 100 pictures.  He loved being able to take pictures.  While half of them were of his pants or his feet he did have a few good pictures and a lot of fun.  Check out a few.
I told him to take a picture of something he liked.
He said :Make a funny face Mom" and after he took he told me "Good-job"  :)
 Emmeric all snuggled up.
What most of his pictures looked like.  I love those chubby feet.

Easter Baskets...

Like Santa Claus we neither play up or play down the Easter Bunny.  When it came time for the boys to receive their Easter baskets we told them that because Jesus gave us the gift of everlasting life by dying on the cross for us we have a few gifts we want to give you.  It wasn't a lot, a few pieces of candy, foam swords (which were the biggest hit), a read-a-long story book, kite and bubble blowers.

Easter Story Cookies

Last year, I found a recipe for cookies that tells the story of Christ's death.  It was a really good use of our senses as well as a very tactile approach to the Easter story.  The boys are really excited to open the oven tomorrow morning as try our cookies. Check out the story and the recipe in this link.
 Beating the chocolate chips.
Emmeric mixing.

Max adding the chocolate chips.
They thought they were delicious.  They were surprised that it crumbled in their hand because they were hollow.

He has Risen...

Last night we decorated the a sign to let everyone know that indeed "HE has Risen."  We put it in our front window for the whole neighborhood to see.

The Easter Story

We have been doing a lot of talking about the real meaning of Easter.  We have done our Resurrection eggs, made a resurrection garden, created tombs out of paper plates and read the Easter Story out of the many Children's bibles we have.  The boys are still working ahrd on remembering what it all means but they do know if it about so much more than easter eggs and candy.

Coloring Easter Eggs

This year we just colored a few Easter Eggs.  Instead of the traditional dye, we used our ink stampers.  Emmeric cracked a few but they turned out cute.  They didn't last long though, we ate them at supper.

World's Best Smile.

I really think Emmeric has the best smile in the world.  It is the HARDEST thing to capture on camera but every time he flashes it to me I melt.
